Q: How do I stop the vanity lights from fading the wood border on my bathroom mirror?
We just installed a light fixture over a new bathroom mirror. It's only been a week and the finish on the border of the mirror is fading. Is there something we can do to stop the wood from fading?

There really is not a clear cut answer for this one. Here is what I would do. 1. Coat the exterior of the frame with uv resistant marine varnish. 2. If possible turn the light fixture so the bulbs face up and do not bake the frame. 3. Consider l.e.d. lighting, although slightly expensive, the bulbs put off much less heat which might really be the problem. Hope these suggestions help.
