Q: Which kind of paint should I use on a crib?
I have an old hand me down crib that my sister gave me (her kids are all grown now and I'm trying to save money in these tough times). However, the crib is dark wood and I would like to paint it white. I'm worried about toxicity and how it will affect my baby. Which paint is safe to use on my baby's crib?

It is recommended to use water based paint and make sure it is no-VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), also referred to as no off-gasing.
Many paint brands offer no- or low-VOC paint lines.

Northglenn, COA: Higher sheen equates to more durability
I would also mention that a higher sheen (semi-gloss or high-gloss) is going to hold up better to the wear and tear of a baby and the inevitable washing that comes along.
