Q: Can I stain proof my tile flooring?
With cats, dogs, two young kids, and whatever else can possibly step on the new tile floors I am wondering if there is anything I can do to protect my tile floors. Stain proofing seems fundamentally like a great concept but can it been done after the tile has been laid?

A:
Sure... Provided that you don't wear off the coating during use and maintenance.
There are many types of sealers that can be used. A porous tile, like Mexican pavers, may require sealing before installation and a couple times after. Pets can quickly distroy applied sealers, and excessive moisture migration from some concrete sites can introduce distructive migrating surface contamination. Remember, once coating are used they have to be maintained and reused as needed. Your local tile store can match- the-hatch so to speek, or call a manufacture or fine sealer for advice about you type tile.
