Q: Can Jean from Timberlake Hardwood Floors or another flooring or green expert tell me more about cork floors?
Hiya Jean and all you other contractors out there! Jean, I just read your answer regarding the environmental issues with Ipe. You talk about cork floors and how they've come a long way. I would love to learn more. How much do cork floors cost per square foot? Are there particular colors or finishes you like? Can these floors look as nice as a traditional wood floor? Also, you recommend APC Cork. Can you get this anywhere? We're not that far away, so I imagine I should be able to get their product. Thank you! Also, thanks to any other floor installers or green experts willing to share help. : )

Good morning Deb! Cork flooring typically runs anywhere from $3-$8 depending on the style you've selected. It used to be that cork was your typical boring brown with a few pattern variations. Now you can get in satins, high gloss, metallics, purple, kaleidescope patterns, etc. There is alot to choose from! Cork is nothing like traditional hardwood but can can be very complimentary to a space. I really like and sell alot of APC Cork through my website although there are now many more options I do not yet have posted. I distribute this product to your area and delivery typically takes 2 days. You can also get this at many many retail stores in the Milwaukee area. If you need a retailer close to you I'd be happy to check my database and point you in the right direction.
