Q: How can I find salvaged wood to use in my home?
I would like to build a mantle out of salvaged wood. I would also consider salvaged or recycled wood flooring. Where can I find quality salvaged wood and wood products? Thanks.

A good blog I follow describes their reclaimed floors here: http://greenlifesmartlife.wordpress.com/2009/11/30/flooring-for-green-life-smart-life-house/ . This house has wood floors reclaimed from an old barn. They came out great.

If you simply look up Reclaimed wood online you will find a large number of companies who specialize in this type of material. Some can give you alot of historical information on the wood as well if you are into that sort of thing like I am.
