Q: Do faucets with hoses last as long? Do the leak more?
Hi, I like the idea of having a hose nozzle on my kitchen faucet. Does this feature shorten the life of a faucet or have any other negatives? Leaks, etc.? Thanks.

Have to agree the functionality of sprayer is much better than the possibility of a future leak. Keep in mind, sprayer will not leak upper/lower unless faucet is turned on.
Hoses Made to Last~
Really wished manufactures made upper faucet hoses like the ones underneath the cabinetry, that made of wire-braid stainless steel nature.
Also giving the flexibility to install in tight quarters, these would out last all washers and rubber seats inside the faucet housing. I replaced a Roman tube faucet in my home, removing copper tubing risers, having only inches of work room, and wire-braid hoses, was the only thing I could use, without sweating the fittings, possibly melting the tube enclosure.

This is depending on the company that makes kitchen faucets. I prefer "Moen" it is guaranteed for life. Just remember you get what you pay for. Good luck on your purchase and God bless

Anything with more working parts is more likely to go bad versus a simpler faucet with less parts. Just the nature of the beast. That being said, I think the functionality of a sprayer far outweighs the possibility of something going bad.
