Q: Lead in faucets? Should we all be replacing our fixtures?

Hi! I recently read that on January 1 California will begin a ban on faucets that contain more than 0.25% lead in the brass alloy inside the faucet. Everything I've read seems to indicate that most older faucets contain much more lead than this. Until January 1st, it's legal to sell faucets with up to 8% lead. Apparently, this is enough lead that some will seep into your water.

Should I replace the faucets in my home? Or, should I at least replace my kitchen faucet? We drink a lot of water out of our kitchen faucet and I am concerned about my kids drinking water with lead in it. Thanks for your advice!
