Q: Does a mud room add value to a house or is it wasted space?
Are mud rooms good for house values or would it be better to use that space for a pantry or just more cabinetry/kitchen?

Usually a mudroom is only valuable in a home that has plenty of room for it. If you already have a small kitchen, the space may be better utilized within the kitchen footprint. A mudroom is really used for Utility - Laundry, storage, a clean-up station, a pet center, or a catch-all room between the kitchen and garage. So it is only as valuable as you make it. If it makes sense, it will add value, but if it doesn't, a homebuyer could consider it to be the first thing to go.
