Q: In-line dryer vent lint trap
Hello,

I have a dryer in the basement with a dryer booster fan and a lint trap right below it in the attic, which is 40 ft. away from the dryer. For some reason, the lint trap drips water when the dryer is in use. Do you know what causes this and how to prevent it? It is installed on a vertical vent pipe that leads to the roof. Also, would it be okay to move the lint trap to the laundry room in the basement so that it will be more accessible to clean the lint? I don’t know if the lint trap had to be close to the booster fan or if it will be alright if it was 40 ft. away from the fan.
