Q: How do plantation shutters hold up?
I'm thinking of putting plantation shutters up in my house. My partner and I used to rent a great little townhouse apartment that had these shutters, and we loved them. They're so quaint. I only have one hesitation. When we were renting there, I remember the pieces of the shutters always banging into each other (the slats, the rods, the different panels). Over time, how durable are these shutters? Do they get banged up and nicked? How do you care for them if they do get banged up?
Also, is there a particular brand of plantation shutters that any professionals or homeowners recommend?
