Livonia, MIA: Rough pricing for replacement window project.
I'm in Michigan so pricing by you may differ. I'd budget $5000-$12,000 for windows, depending on product and type of material. The french doors can have huge price variations a high quality woodclad or fiberglass could possibly run up to $6,000. Siding can vary quite a bit too depending on size and style of home, plus type of product planning on using. Siding is measured in squares 1 sq = 10'x10' area. 1sq. vinyl siding installed roughly about $350. Fiber cement can be $1000/ sq.
Many of the window and door dealers also install siding. I would go check out some of their showrooms and ask for references and some job addresses in your area. Try to find contractor with quality products and employees. If you leave more specific info regarding type of window/ door/ siding product your looking for, I will be able to give more accurate budget.

A: Is it pre 1978?
If your home is pre 1978, dont forget that the installers will need to be Lead RRP Certified to replace the windows after the new rule takes effect April 22 2010.
