Q: I'm squaring off my pony wall, 7" ledge, so I have a flat wall for mounted TV and fireplace. Should I insulated the space behind my false wall.
I had the 2x4 false wall insulated but the space behind the 2 wall seemed to be quite cool. I was worry about condisation so I took the insulation out, to allow heat and greater air movement between the walls. The wall is in a "L' side with the 4" space opening to the laudry/furance room. Will this make a cold wall in the rec room?

What is behind the false wall? If you can, try to insulate the surface closest to the exterior (foundation wall or other?) with 2" rigid foam insulation board. Use expansion foam sealant around the perimeter of the foam board. That should take care of a lot of the cold you are feeling.
