Q: Do professionals think Lowe's or Home Depot is better?
Do remodeling professionals and other contractors think Lowe's or Home Depot is a better store? Or, do Lowe's and Home Depot each have different strengths? For instance, should I go to one for my lumber and materials and another for my hardware? A quick read from some pros would be great, particularly if it would save me money or ensure that I get higher quality materials or hardware. Thanks.

That's a tough question. I think it depends on where your located. I like each store for different reasons. Personally, i think Lowe's has better materials, especially lumber. However, the home depot close to me is easy to get in and out of. Whenever i need to make a quick stop and I know exactly what I want and where it is located, I go to Home Depot.
The lowes closest to me is 15-20 minutes away. But, I will go there is Im looking for a large amount of lumber, etc. and time isnt so much as issue.
As far as pricing goes, im guessing each is close to the other. The only difference is one might have a sale on a certain item at a different time than the other.
All in all, i think this all boils down to personal preference.
