Q: What are the best drought tolerant plants?
Living in Arizona can be difficult. But not as difficult as keeping plants alive without water and too much sun. I need advice on what types of plants are best suited for this type of atmosphere.

Plants of the succulent variety would be your best choice, as many are native to this type of climate, and thrive there. Plants like prickly pear, aloe, sempervivums, jovibarbas, and the hanging 'donkey's tail' are all good, hardy succulents.

Oleander is another plant that is extremely drought-tolerant. You might consider this if you want something that blooms, or if you don't like the look of succulents.
